Starring: Ben Stiller, Robert Downey, Jr., Jack Black

Hilarious. Incredibly, stupidly, hilarious. In Ben Stiller’s first film directing, since 2001’s classic Zoolander, Tropic Thunder was setting up a great finish to the summer movie season. Anchored by a star-studded cast which includes some unexpected cameos in Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey, this film brought the funny. Based on the previews, all I wanted to see was Robert Downey, Jr. and it did not dissapoint. The performance was fantastic. Ben Stiller was his usual self. Jack Black faded a bit in this one, but had his moments. The real surprise of the movie was couch-jumper-Cruise. He dropped so many F-bombs it would make Joe Pesci blush. It was just weird, but funny. The man can move, I’ll give him that. I’m sure some scientology rules were broken, but hey, it is science I guess. But overall I was very happy, and I know this one will get funnier every time I see it.
